About The New Haven County Bar Association

Founded in the late 18th Century and incorporated in 1907, the New Haven County Bar Association is a not-for-profit professional organization of over 1,400 New Haven area judges, attorneys, paralegals, law students and other legal professionals that provides educational, social and other services to its members.

The Bar Association supports its members in many ways, including continuing legal education programs, new attorney mentoring opportunities, encourages professionalism, has several committees, offers annual social events, publishes a bi-monthly newsletter, and fosters relations between its members and the courts. It sponsors for the community the New Haven County Lawyer Referral Service and a variety of Law Day activities.

Membership is open to any attorney who works or resides in the Greater New Haven area, and to those paralegals, law students, legal administrators and others who qualify under the Associate Member guidelines.

The Bar Association works closely with its charitable arm, the New Haven County Bar Foundation, Inc., which provides charitable outreach and educational programming.
