NHCBA Committees

Most of the New Haven County Bar Association’s programs and activities are planned and implemented by its members through committee work. The NHCBA’s 22 committees accommodate a wide range of member interests. Committee participation is free and is open to all members of the association.

Bankruptcy

Addresses issues relating to consumer and business bankruptcy with a particular emphasis on the rules and procedures of the New Haven Bankruptcy Court. Established and monitors a court approved volunteer-based mediation program with the New Haven Bankruptcy Court. (Mediation application can be found under Legal Links on this website.)

Continuing Legal Education

Environmental/Land Use Law

Provides oversight of the not-for-profit public service run by the NHCBA that matches members of the public with private attorneys. Develops ways to promote LRS in the community by sponsoring free legal seminars and advice clinics, to increase the caliber of the referrals to LRS attorneys.
