New Haven Young Lawyers

Who We Are

Lawyers who have been in practice for less than 6 years OR who are 35 years old or younger are welcome to participate.

What We Do

Young Lawyers sponsors social activities, networking lunch meetings, guest speakers, happy hours, and community service projects. Our goal is to get to know and learn from each other.

All NHCBA members who fit the eligibility criteria are invited to join the New Haven Young Lawyers Committee; the annual fee is $20. To become involved in our events and projects, participate on the steering committee, or just get updates on what the NHYL Committee is up to, please send the NHCBA office an email with your interest and contact information, and submit the NHYL fee with your NHCBA dues. Comments from the President

Desi Imetovski, NHYL President 2007-08

I have the distinct honor of serving as this year’s president of the YLS along with a dedicated Executive Committee. Together we represent a diverse cross section of the young legal professionals of New Haven County.

As you begin your journey into the legal profession, we encourage you to become active and involved members of the bar and your community.

The YLS offers wonderful opportunities for young lawyers to become involved and active through a variety events and community projects that are hosted throughout the year. These events and community projects are meant to help develop legal capabilities, networking skills and charitable ways. And sometimes, simply, to have a little fun!

Our calendar is always updated, so log in and keep up with what is going on! Our events are open to all members of the bar and we certainly encourage anyone interested to attend.

I look forward to this year’s presidency. The New Haven County Bar Association is celebrating 100 years of charted existence; a stepping stone for the next 100 years!
